2007 MCTA Tennis Program for Special Olympics

Training/ Competition Calendar

All training sessions will be held at Cabin John Regional Park

Outdoor Tennis Courts 4:30-6:00 Sundays- Please arrive at 4:15 to get ready.

September 9-16-23-30  Team/skills assessment and training

October 7-14-21-28      Team/skills training, competition qualifier and local                                         competition  *October 28^th – Please arrive at 3:30

· October 7^th will be our local qualifier when we will go through all of the skills and establish  a “divisioning score” for each athlete. This score will assist us in planning for our local competition on the 28^th.

· Sunday October 28^th will be our own Local Competition at Cabin John Park tennis courts. Please plan to arrive by 3:30 for placement in Competition Groups. Opening Ceremony and Competition will run from 4-6:00 with awards ceremony to follow.

*You may want to visit the State Fall Fest : Saturday October 27^th- State Competition at the Fall Fest Mt. St. Marys – Emmittsburg, MD  Opeing Ceremonies 9:30AM- Full day of competition. You can watch the tennis competition and cheer on Maryland athletes and see what you can look forward to next fall!

Please mark these dates on your personal calendars and advise Greg Overkamp of any dates that you will not be available for training or competition.
