The mission of Special Olympics, Maryland, Montgomery County is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in 15 Olympic-type sports for citizens with intellectual disabilities giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Our programs are free to eligible athletes and are possible only with the support of our community... in providing coaches, volunteers, uniforms, facilities and equipment. You can help by volunteering as a coach, assistant coach, or at a competition. You can join our Management Team and be a Committee Member on one of many vital committees. There are many ways that you and your family or office-mates can help.
