Cycling
Head Coaches: Renny Springuel
Season: June/July/Aug/Sept
Training: Saturday mornings from 9-10:30. Start date is July 10, 2010
Where:
Bohere
Park (Gaithersburg)
Competition:
Cycling state games are scheduled for September 25 2010 The cycling program provides opportunities for an athlete to get
a work out in a safe environment, to compete
in qualifiers and state cycling events...no
matter how fast or slow you go. We offer a variety of
cycling levels, averaging speeds from 3 mph
to 15 mph. The Cycling Club will compete in
local and regional qualifiers in Maryland and
Delaware, and athletes will have the
opportunity to compete in the State Cycling
Games on Sept 25. This is a Summer/early Fall program. We will start the program on July 10th at Bohrer
Park. We will have an opportunity to check over our bikes and adjust our
helmets before we go for a ride. I’ll bring tools to help tune up bikes where
needed, and Dona will be adjusting helmets. This year we are going to run things a little bit
different. We will have the traditional practice at Bohrer park for those
athletes wishing to get ready for the September Cycling competition. We will
also have a group that will ride for the fun of riding and will rarely ride at
Bohrer Park, this group will ride in different location each week. We will work
together to find the locations, I’m open to suggestions. We can make these
rides last a few hours to all day it will be up to the participants. Both programs will require that you provide your own
equipment and a buddy to ride with.
SOMO has made an important step in our ability to coordinate resources for
practices within and across teams. If you can Volunteer during some or all
