Saturday April 14th
Come and bring your family and friends along to the Inspiration Walk. The money raised will help us to continue to grow our Special Olympics year round programs. We need your help! Support our athletes by joining us at the RIO Washingtonian Center in Gaithersburg for a beautiful walk around the Text Box: Lake and a chance to meet SOMO athletes and families.

The kayaking season will begin in mid-May. We practice on Saturday mornings at Black Hill Regional Park in Boyds. The season will finish with state competition at the Regatta at St. Mary’s College at the end of July. Any interested athletes, including those who participated last year and that wish to do so again, and volunteers should contact me at 301-654-8888. Text Box: SOMO Summer Sailing and Kayaking Programs: 
You may not yet be thinking sunny days on the water, but our first sailing session begins May 7th. This is the best opportunity for juniors to sail in the protected harbor near the Reagan National Airport, with champion Georgetown University Varsity sailors! Sessions are Monday after school for four weeks. Space is limited, so send in your registration now, or call the hotline to reserve your space. Our other two programs begin June 6th. New and returning sailors should register NOW.

RELAY

SOMO hosts the Regional Spring Games at Churchill High School on Sunday May 6th. The Spring Games will feature track and field and bocce competition between several counties throughout MD. The athletes are competing in this qualifying event to be eligible

For competition in the Maryland State Summer Games June 8-9-10. Check somd.org for details and come out on the 6th to cheer on the SOMO athletes!
