SOMO VIP Volunteer! A Very Special SOMO Thank you goes
to our Bowling Program Team Manager and SOMO Mom, Debbie Fickenscher. Debbie
serves our athletes and programs all year long. As the Bowling Team Manager
she oversees the 10 Pin Bowling program in the Fall Season with the hugely
successful Bowl-a-thon; the Competitive Winter session with our SOMO Bowling
Tournament and State Games Bowling Tournament; and in our Spring
Recreational season featuring the new and very popular “I beat my coach
bowling tournament”. Debbie began the weekly bowling team newsletter ”Lane
Lines”, and developed the “alternate status” that allows for the placement of
bowlers not on the season roster into open bowling slots on a week to week basis. Great work, Debbie! |

Our Cross Country, Alpine and Snow
Shoe Ski Programs are having their most successful season ever! Beginning with cross-training in November, our cross
country, snowshoe and alpine skiers worked hard on getting “fit for ski”!
Although there hasn’t been snow at home, they have traveled to on-snow training events and SOMO will have our largest ever delegation of 25 athletes competing in the Winter Games at WISP on February 24-26. Go and cheer them on! Congrats Skiers! Your SOMO skill and sportsmanship make
us proud! |
