The SOMO Gift Envelope is a simple way for you and your family and friends to remember, honor or celebrate a special person or event any time of the year by simply completing the information on the pre-printed envelope, enclosing a check and off it goes! An acknowledgement will be sent to the recipient of the honor and you will receive acknowledgement as well. We will feature a special box in editions of the Relay to announce the SOMO gifts and honorees. Celebrate our athletes and celebrate our friends and families! Contact Lorrie White for  gift

      The new logo that you will see at summer games and on     Special Olympics materials world-wide: “Be a Fan” reflects the new Special Olympics “ call to action”: “Be a fan of sports and of competition and winning, of courage and determination, of dignity and strength and grace under pressure, of empowerment and of victory, of acceptance and tolerance, of inclusion, of unity and togetherness, of fun and joy, of courtesy and kindness, of inspiration. Be a fan of possibilities.” What better call to action for an organization or for  the SOMO family!

      With every new training goal met, with the thrill of every competition experience, with the building of new friendships and the growth of old friendships, we all have the opportunity to be a fan of the possibilities in life through Special Olympics.

      I am grateful every day to have the privilege of knowing and working with our SOMO athletes and families. Thank you for sharing your lives with me and thank you all for the support and dedication that you show by volunteering with our athletes, by supporting our fund raising efforts, and by living the call to action: Be a Fan!  Pam Yerg

The Montgomery Masters Golf Tournament needs you!

The SOMO Family had the pleasure of recognizing Jeanne and Ben Ackerman as Inspirational Coaches at our 2008 Inspiration Walk this April. This was our first annual Inspirational People Presentation and we started this tradition with the best! Ben and Jeanne have been involved in SOMO for many years as head coaches for the cross country ski, alpine ski and sailing programs and serve on the SOMO Management Team as well! Thank you from your SOMO family!
