Special Olympics MD– Montgomery County  (SOMO) offers 21 sports and leadership programs during our 4 sport seasons each year!

     Our programs reach out to people with intellectual disabilities to give them an opportunity to have sports in their lives—and all of the gifts that  participation in sports brings.

      Athletes in our new YAP — Young Athletes Program are ages 2-7. Athletes in all of our sports programs are ages 8 and older. Our training and competition opportunities are free to our athletes because of the generosity of friends, families and our community. We do not receive any state, local, or federal funding. Our Montgomery County Management Team is an all-volunteer group of very dedicated  parents, coaches and community members tasked with developing, and funding all of the elements of our sports and leadership programs: facilities, equipment, uniforms, volunteers, awards, transportation, travel competition, administration and implementation!

    We need your help to continue to grow our wonderful programs in SOMO!

New in 2008: The SOMO “Nifty” 50/50 Raffle!

Purchase a 50/50 Raffle Ticket for $100.00 and you will Help Us Build Heroes!                  

     

We will sell ONLY 100  tickets* creating a “Prize Pot” of $5000! And a gift to SOMO of  $5000! First Prize $2500—Second Prize $1500—Third Prize $1000 . We also have 15 additional prizes to be awarded: such as gift certificates, sports equipment, and sports memorabilia! * If fewer than 100 tickets are sold, the “Prize Pot” will be 50% of the total raffle revenue and 3 cash prizes will be awarded based on the above prize percentages

           The Drawing will be held on August 25th at our Montgomery Masters Golf Event.

 Any SOMO Management Team Member can sell you a 50/50 Raffle Ticket: just complete the contact info, make the payment and we will mail you your authenticated official Raffle ticket, or you can go to our “SOMO Store” on the website: www.somdmontgomery.org   Complete all of the contact info and payment information, and we will register your ticket purchase and mail you your authenticated official raffle ticket!
