SOMO Level 2 Golf Team with Coaches Larry Jacobs and Chuck Hellmuth

     We offer 21 Olympic type sports training and competition opportunities in Special Olympics MD - Montgomery County to athletes from as young as 2 in our Young Athlete Program, to our juniors and high school programs, and to our seniors programs serving adults with intellectual disabilities. These programs are provided free of charge to our athletes thanks to the generous support of our families, friends, and community. We do not receive any local, state or federal funding and our SOMO Management Team is responsible for raising the funds necessary to support the costs associated with our quality programs serving so many wonderful athletes! To provide these programs we must secure and pay for facility rental, provide uniforms, equipment, awards, transportation and housing for competition, and the costs of recruiting and training our coaches and volunteers. We are an all-volunteer organization and we depend on YOU to help us continue to flourish and grow!

     You can help us in many ways: purchase a Nifty 50/50 Raffle Ticket, participate in our Spring Inspiration Walk, make a donation in the name of someone special in your life, gather a few golfing buddies together and play in our fantastic golf event or become a sponsor, volunteer your time as a coach, assistant coach or management team member, talk to your friends and families about the experience that Special Olympics has given you or someone you know, and finally: tell people that we need them to BE A FAN ...of our athletes, and of the possibilities in life!
