Text Box: Bowling: The Winter Session

You may have noticed that it is not possible to register for bowling in this newsletter. There is a good reason! Registration for the winter session was in August. In fact, the winter session will begin November 4, because otherwise we would not be able to schedule the required practices prior to the state games in early February. We’ve had a great fall session and if you missed out, please watch for the February newsletter so you can register to bowl during the spring session.

Text Box: In Memory of Sam Bryant.

Some of you may know that Sam Bryant, one of our athletes, passed away this past August. Because Sam loved Special Olympics and bowling, it seemed fitting to create a spirit award in his memory. Beginning this fall, the bowler who most exemplifies the spirit of Special Olympics will be recognized as the recipient of the Sam Bryant Spirit Award. David Godoy is the first recipient of this award. David’s name is on the plaque that will be on display during each bowling practice.
Text Box: David received a letter congratulating him for being honored in this way. Below see David on the left, and his bowling buddy Andy Taylor
