Text Box: Floor Hockey is a blast!  Come and give it a try!
Coaches Tim Powers and Matt Payne have been building a floor hockey team for 3 years now and we need more players and more coaches and volunteers to really make this happen! The season will begin on Sunday Nov. 19th 11:30-1:00 at the Barrie School with a Player and Coach Clinic to introduce and review the basics of the game. All  interested athletes, Text Box: coaches and  volunteers should attend.
The training season will be on Sundays from 11-12:30 at the Barrie School beginning Dec. 3 and run until the State Tournament at the Barrie School hosted by SOMO this year on Saturday Feb. 10th!
We encourage athletes of all ages to join the floor hockey program...and if you are also planning to train in basketball, no problem! There will not be Text Box: a conflict in your practice schedule and floor hockey will finish on Feb. 10th. Our program is young and small and needs a few more enthusiastic athletes and coaches to really grow! We have brand new uniforms this year—professional hockey jerseys—the SOMO Sabertoothes will put fear into the hearts of the other teams!!!

Text Box: to competition and development of friendships. Our juniors programs rely heavily on volunteer Buddies and Unified Partners from the Montgomery community and the friendships built with our athletes peers has been amazing!
In the basketball program you will be placed on a “school team” if you attend either Cabin John MS, KTS,or Ivymount. The other team options  are Team PASA and the Blessed Sacrament Teams. You will be placed on a team that has the Text Box: In SOMO we have been growing our juniors programs for the past several years! The juniors programs are designed for athletes age 6-14/15. As our athletes age into high school, we are designing high school leagues for them that will be a  part  of either the juniors or the seniors program schedules depending upon the sport.
Our goal in the development of the juniors and High School programs is to provide great skill development, an introduction Text Box: most  common factors for you .If you have played on Team PASA or on one of the Blessed Sacrament teams in the past, please indicate that on the sign up form. We will try to place every athlete on a team . We need to strive for even numbered rosters and are desperate to develop additional school teams, but need parents to step up and work with us and with their school to make it happen!
Each team will have its own practice schedule—many beginning in Dec.

Text Box: follow from 1:30-3:00, and the 5v5 teams will follow them at 3:00. The practice schedule is likely to change on Feb. 11 following  the floor hockey season. 
Athletes who train in skills, 3v3 or 5v5 team play will have weekly practices as well as 2 or more travel qualifier tournaments in order to be eligible to be considered for State Tournament  Play. The 3v3 and 5v5 teams will be formed based upon coach recommendations and volunteer support, and numbers of athletes in the program.
Text Box: We plan to host a 3v3 qualifier in mid-Feb. at the Barrie School. Our programs have grown and we have many more athletes interested in playing basketball—it is very important that family members, counselors and friends step up and help with team management, volunteering each week and coaching our athletes. Text Box: Our Seniors basketball program offers a wide range of skill ability training and competition levels: Skills , 3v3 and 5v5 team play are offered to SOMO athletes 16/17 and older ( we also plan to offer a high school league to those junior athletes who have aged out of the juniors programs).
Our Seniors basketball players train on Sundays at the Barrie School. Beginning  January 7 the 3v3 teams and skill athletes will train following floor hockey at 12:30—2:00. The High School 3v3  teams are scheduled to
