WE NEED
YOU! Special Olympics MD– Montgomery County (SOMO) offers 21 sports and leadership
programs during our 4 sport seasons each year! Our programs reach out to
people with intellectual disabilities to give them an opportunity to have
sports in their lives—and all of the gifts that participation in sports brings. We offer a brand new YAP—Young Athletes Program serving athletes ages 3-7
and their families. We have a Junior component to all of our sports programs
to serve our “junior” athletes ages 8-21. Our Seniors programs in all 21
sports continue to grow as we provide sports opportunities to athletes 21 and
older. We truly offer a “LIFE-LONG EXPERIENCE”. Our training and competition
opportunities are free to our athletes because of the generosity of friends,
families and our community. We do not receive any state, local, or federal
funding. Our Montgomery County Management Team is an all-volunteer group of
very dedicated parents, coaches and
community members tasked with developing, and funding all of the elements of
our sports and leadership programs: facilities, equipment, uniforms,
volunteers, awards, transportation, travel competition, administration and
implementation! We need
your help to continue to grow our wonderful programs in SOMO! There are
