SOMO Golf Program set to begin training August 5th -

The Golf program is a very popular training program and spaces in the program are very limited. This sport is a very time-intensive and coaching intensive sport and we need additional parent and volunteer support in order to continue to offer Golf in SOMO.

If you wish to either continue to train on the Golf Team or wish to be considered as a new athlete on the Golf Team you must understand and agree to meet the following requirements:

1)        Each golfer MUST have a committed Unified Partner ( a friend, coach or family member who will attend all practices and who will commit to training with and competing with the athlete through the training process)

2)        Each golfer MUST make a commitment to training in the program for a minimum of  training

seasons with the goal of reaching Level 2 competition: Unified Play, 9 holes, every other ball.

3)        Each golfer MUST commit to attending all practices ( weekend and one weekday practice) and

participate fully in preparations for local and regional competitions.

4)        Each golfer MUST have parent/family/counselor volunteer support to the Golf Training Program—volunteer duties will be discussed at the Golf Orientation Meeting.

Upon receipt of athlete responses, all interested athletes will be called with the details of the Golf Orientation Meeting to be held in July. The 2006 Golf Team will be announced at the Montgomery Masters Golf Tournament on July 31st.
