PASA Middle school and High School softball training is a partnership with Montgomery County Rec to offer a softball training team for athletes in middles and high school. The season begins on Sunday April 11th from 10-11:30. A PASA form is required for this program. Middle School and High School athletes will train with high school volunteers/Unified Partners from area baseball teams to learn the skills of softball and play inter-squad games in a Unified format ( Unified partners will play along with our SO athletes to increase friendship building and skill building). Signup form for PASA is available HERE. DO NOT USE THE ON-LINE ATHLETE SIGN-UP form usually used for Special Olympic athletes.
SOMO has made an important step in our ability to coordinate resources for
practices within and across teams. If you can Volunteer during some or all
practices and events, choose Soccer at:
http://somdmontgomery.org/volsignup_for_sport.htm
For the Role, choose what you would like to focus on (there is also overlap to
roles). Some examples for each of the roles available are:
Head Coach = divisions, trains, and coordinates competitions for the entire SOMO
team
Assistant Coach = guides the skill develop and game
play for a small group of Athletes via demonstration and suggestions for
improvement of skills
Unified Partner = plays alongside an Athlete partner
(not available for all sports)
Admin = helps with sign-in/management, informal or formal officiating (recording
scores)
Chaperone = drives and/or is in charge of one or more Athletes at
practices/events
BE SURE TO REGISTER YOUR INTEREST IN TRAINING FOR THIS SPORT BY USING THE ONLINE ATHLETE REGISTRATION FORM or ONLINE VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FORM. All athletes/volunteers must register prior to attending practice. The forms will be available a few weeks prior to the sport's season.
