Senior Aquatics
Head Coaches: Margie Young
Season: Saturdays from Noon to 2pm, starting March 6 through June 2010
Training: The SOMO Swim Team is not a “learn to swim program”. Athletes with current medical on file who are older than 14 are invited to try out for the swim team. Athletes are required to have a comfort level with the water and be able to get into the pool and swim two lengths (in some “free-style” fashion). Athletes must make a commitment to attend at least two sanctioned qualifying events to include our home swim meet on May 9th, and must commit to working with the coaching staff to increase, stamina, increase event distances and increase/improve stroke techniques. Spaces on the team are limited due to facility and coaching staff limitations. Due to the limited number of team spaces available, athletes who wish to participate on the swim team must commit to this sport as their first priority. Spaces on the team will be given first to those athletes who make this commitment and are not training in another sport. Athletes must attend the first two try-out/orientations: Saturday March 6 and 13 at the Stone Ridge School in Bethesda. Details about the swim team program will be shared at these orientations. The regular season training will be at the Stone Ridge School pool in Bethesda. Questions... email srswim@somdmontgomery.org

SOMO has made an important step in our ability to coordinate resources for
practices within and across teams. If you can Volunteer during some or all
practices and events, choose Aquatics at:
http://somdmontgomery.org/volsignup_for_sport.htm
For the Role, choose what you would like to focus on (there is also overlap to
