World Games 2015

SOMO is sending Terrel Limerick to the Special Olympics World Games!

Terrel, along with 4 other of his teammates (2 from Md and 3 from Va.) sail and compete at the highest level of sailing that SO offers, Level 5 (solo sailing).  They are proficient at sailing ail of the different race courses required of even non-SO sailors in regattas and competition.  Each and every athlete started out sailing with a Unified Partner on a Hobie Cat, performing one or two small tasks onboard, and have progressed to racing FJ’s (collegiate racing boats) . . . a huge accomplishment,

Terrel was selected to represent the United States as the first ever sailor to compete at Level 5, in next years Special Olympics World Games in 2015 in Long Beach.  There will be over 7000 athletes representing 164+ countries.

Terrel will be competing against SO athletes from Australia, Russia, the UK, and possibly some Scandinavian countries.  Terrel has to learn a new boat (Laser Radial) for the World Games!
