WELCOMES ATHLETES TO JOIN OUR YEAR-ROUND Program
Montgomery County Special Olympics provides a year-round training and competitive sports program for Montgomery County children and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or closely related developmental disabilities.
Eligibility
Any individual who has been identified as having an intellectual (or cognitive) disability by a medical professional or agency is eligible to be a Special Olympics Maryland – Montgomery County athlete. Athletes must be at least 8 years old to compete with no maximum age limit.
In addition, we have a Young Athletes Program for children ages 3-7. This program focuses on fundamental skill acquisition through play and preparing them for training and competition in our year-round Community-Based sports programs.
All Special Olympics programs are offered at no cost to our athletes.
