Season: Tryouts and conditioning – Dec. 11 & 18, 2016, 11 am – 12:15 pm; Regular season – Sundays beginning January 8th, 2017, 11 am – 12:15 pm

Where: Barrie School (13500 Layhill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20906) – 3v3 practice is 11:00-12:15 on Sundays.

The Barrie League Adult 3v3 Traditional (Half Court) Age 22 and older teams are composed of players who have skills and fitness levels advanced enough for 3v3 training and competition. 3v3 basketball is “half-court” basketball. The maximum roster size of the 3v3 team is 8. There are many levels of ability/play available in 3v3 basketball, and 3v3 teams train and compete in regional qualifiers and State Games. Half-Court 3v3 is especially  well-suited to the athlete who is still in the process of developing basketball skills, fitness and knowledge of the game. Many of our older or less fit athletes choose 3v3 basketball because “court travel” is limited to half court, but the game is fast-paced and offers great basketball excitement.

The 3v3 try-outs will be at the Barrie School on Dec. 11th & 18th, 2016 from 11 am to 12:15 pm. Athletes will be placed on a Traditional 3v3 Team based on athlete age, ability assessment, and coach and volunteer support. Teams and roster slots are limited and athletes who have registered online by December 1st, and attend the Dec. 11th & Dec. 18th Try-outs will be placed first.

  • NOTE: This is the first year the 3v3 teams will HOLD TRYOUTS IN DECEMBER.  Please register early and attend the Dec. 11th and 18th try-outs and conditioning practices.  Regular practices will begin Jan. 8, 2017.  All try-outs and practices will be on Sundays, 11  am  – 12:15 pm, at the Barrie School

Competition: TBD for 2017–Maryland State Basketball Tournament is XX, 2017

The SOMO  hosted 3v3 Landon qualifier will be announced.

There will be at least one additional “traveling qualifier” required of all teams in order to qualify for competition in the Maryland State Basketball Tournament: likely in Howard Co. All players who are rostered to a team must make the commitment to attend practices regularly and to attend both required qualifiers as well as the State Tournament. Your team depends on you!

Notes: Athlete assessment is mandatory and will be held at the Dec. 11th & 18th try-outs and conditioning.

Players should come to the program that they signed up for or wish to play in. Teams will be determined by the coaching support that we have and the number of athletes who come out for those levels. Coaches will determine the best fit for a player

All athletes/volunteers must sign up for sport training prior to attending practice. Please sign up online as soon as possible so that we can make plans for coaching needs.
