High School League Traditional 5v5 Basketball (age 16-21)

This COMPETITION League trains and competes in travel qualifiers and State Games.

Season: December 10, 2017 – April 8, 2018

Where:  *For the second year: LOCATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS is EINSTEIN HIGH SCHOOL: 11135 Newport Mill Rd. Kensington, MD 20895.

The  two try-out and fitness training dates for High School (age 16-21) Traditional 5v5 (full court)  teams are Sunday Dec 10 & 17, 2017 from 1-3 pm at the Einstein HS main gym. Coaches will determine rosters and may recommend that a player be placed on the Landon HS Player Development Unified League or on a Barrie Adult Team. Athletes must be 21 or under to try-out for this High School League. All athletes who are older than 21 will try out for Barrie or Potomac Community Center ( PCC) League.

Starting Jan 5th, 2018 we will be in Auxiliary gym Fridays 7:30 – 9:30 pm and Sundays 1-3 pm

ALSO NOTE that the athletes on the USA Games team will be practicing at the same location but from 1-4PM. All three teams will work out together on Fridays beginning in January. IMPORTANT NOTE* The 10 USA Games HS Team athletes must register for the HS Basketball program no matter age at time of online sign-up.

Competition: Maryland State Basketball Tournament is April 8, 2018

The SOMO – hosted Traditional 5v5 Georgetown Prep qualifier will be in February.  Date and details TBA . Details will be available here.

There will be at least one additional “traveling qualifier” required of all teams in order to qualify for competition in the Maryland State Basketball Tournament. All players who are rostered to a team must make the commitment to attend practices regularly and to attend both required qualifiers as well as the State Tournament. Your team depends on you!

Notes: Athlete assessment is mandatory and will be held in the December 10 and 17th, 2017 practices.

All athletes/volunteers must sign up for sport training prior to attending practice. Please sign up online as soon as possible so that we can make plans for coaching needs.
