Coach Resources

Volunteers that serve as a coach must be certified. The process is not simple but is very rewarding once completed! Please read the following presentation that gives a good overview of requirements:  2016 coach certification notes from somd 8-16

There are many resources available on the SOMD coach’s web page (MYSOMD).   Coaches and Assistant Coaches and Team Managers  need to request an SOMD userid and password at  new user request. The primary login is from the menu. Once you have a user id, you can access all the coach resources on the SOMD SITE by clicking MYSOMD on their main menu.

Coach handbooks, event guides, results, webinar dates and more is available on MYSOMD. The state will add more information in future, and this will be the “go to place” for all up to date training and competition within your sports season.

Coaches may set up “alerts” that create an email to you when specified sections of MYSOMD are updated/changed/added. Click HERE for instructions.

Additional coach resources are available at the International Special Olympics site.

Head coaches and team managers should access the password protected Head Coach page.
